To start ASAP, full time permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant to work with a successful and market leading Automotive business, based 100% at their Eastern suburbs office. With a strong stable of Automotive brands, the company’s continued growth has been attributed by delivering a wide range of vehicles to its growing client base, underpinned by its superior levels of customer service.

The Role

Joining a small and close-knit Finance team of 5, and reporting directly to an impactful Financial Controller, you will perform an integral and highly visible, hands-on role where will help shape the finance function with the FC, where no 2 days are the same!
  
Genuine career opportunities are on offer, and the role is suitable for someone who likes diversity, working across a range of the finance function with a number of internal stakeholders. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines who likes working autonomously. Primary duties will comprise of:

  • Month/year end reporting
  • Analysing financial data to identify trends, variances, and insights for management
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and reporting timelines
  • Cash Flow management
  • Assist in maintaining fixed asset register
  • P/L
  • G/L recs
  • Payroll Processing, Payroll tax
  • FBT
  • Preparation of BAS statements
  • Bank Recs
  • Bank statements
  • Budgeting/Forecasting
  • Other ad hoc tasks – as required by the Fin Controller
About You

Commercially focussed and with strong analytical skills, you will have experience working in a similar role as an Accountant/Financial Accountant from a small, medium business with 3-5 years’ experience. The successful candidate could be CPA/CA qualified (this is not a must have, Finance degree is a minimum) and come from a range of industries. You could have worked in a Tier 2 or 3 Accounting firm looking to move into industry for the first time. You bring a high level of accuracy, initiative, and professional integrity, combined with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  
You will also need to obtain the following attributes: 

  • High attention to detail 
  • Excellent problem solving and investigative skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intermediate excel skills (vlook ups/pivot tables)
  • Hard working team player
