Reporting into the Senior Financial Accountant, the new Financial Accountant will be based at our Notting Hill head office in Melbourne and enjoy flexibility, a healthy work-life balance, and have the option of hybrid working. You will play a key role in supporting the finance team in meeting the company’s local and global reporting requirements in accordance with company guidelines. 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reporting in line with the Australian regulations, Group requirements and IFRS; 
  • Prepare month-end and year-end close including the preparation of journals, reconciliations, fixed assets maintenance, tax and intercompany transactions; 
  • Optimize financial operations and recognition across Capex, Revenue, inventory and stock take; 
  • Assist the Senior Accountant with the preparation of tax compliance including income tax returns, BAS, and FBT; 
  • Provide meaningful financial analysis and insights to senior leadership to support decision-making, including the maintenance of cashflow forecasting; 
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including maintaining internal control frameworks; 
  • Partner with our Global Services teams to ensure seamless financial processes are maintained; 
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Service, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, IT and HR; 
  • Contribute to regional and global finance projects as the business evolves; 
  • Process improvement and Transformation Streamline of finance processes and drive continuous improvements in reporting and analysis; 
  • Apply a compliance focused mindset across all operations, and; 
  • Always ensure a safety-first approach. 

The ideal candidate will be equipped with the following attributes: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting; 
  • CA/CPA Qualified or currently working towards completion; 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting; 
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Accountant operating in a global, corporate environment; 
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail and accuracy; 
  • Advanced Proficiency in SAP or comparable ERP systems; 
  • Well versed with Microsoft Windows applications, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook; 
  • Adaptability and readiness to handle multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; 
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn; 
  • Exemplary understanding of compliance rules and ability to act as a role model in upholding and promoting compliance standards, and; 
  • Excellent relationship building, problem solving, interpersonal, communication, organisational, analytical and task management skills. 

A Police Check will be required for this position.
