What you will be doing:

This role is the engine room of the business. Responsible for the payment of creditors as well as processing credits and rebates and reconciling customer accounts, this is a role with a lot going on. 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be working closely with a supportive and friendly finance team. You will be primarily responsible for:

  • Managing the Accounts Payable function and supplier profiles  

  • Responding to supplier account queries and resolve any invoice discrepancies or issues

  • Verify and check accuracy of invoices and ensure they are sent for approval in time to meet payment cycles.

  • Process and reconcile invoices & credit claims, reconciling to purchase orders, contracts and supplier statements

  • Prepare payment schedule and submit for approval

  • Manage and report on Aged Payables

  • Process Month End close activities.

  • Tracking and ensuring operational cash flows and bank recs are up to date

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements and verify all bank fees and charges 

  • Process customer (Accounts Receivable) credit claims and rebates

This is a challenging role with standard transactional processing elements, but also the opportunity to develop analytical and partnering skills.  It suits a solid performer with a desire to grow their skills.

What you must have to apply:

  • Previous experience in a small to medium sized business with experience in administration, accounts payable, or a similar support role.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation

  • Excellent communication skills – an ability to communicate with our suppliers in a professional manner

  • Strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, well-organised and ability to manage and meet deadlines. 

  • Knowledge of IT systems and willingness to learn new systems.

  • Demonstrated capability to embrace change
