What you will be doing:
This role is the engine room of the business. Responsible for the payment of creditors as well as processing credits and rebates and reconciling customer accounts, this is a role with a lot going on.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be working closely with a supportive and friendly finance team. You will be primarily responsible for:
Managing the Accounts Payable function and supplier profiles
Responding to supplier account queries and resolve any invoice discrepancies or issues
Verify and check accuracy of invoices and ensure they are sent for approval in time to meet payment cycles.
Process and reconcile invoices & credit claims, reconciling to purchase orders, contracts and supplier statements
Prepare payment schedule and submit for approval
Manage and report on Aged Payables
Process Month End close activities.
Tracking and ensuring operational cash flows and bank recs are up to date
Reconcile bank and credit card statements and verify all bank fees and charges
Process customer (Accounts Receivable) credit claims and rebates
This is a challenging role with standard transactional processing elements, but also the opportunity to develop analytical and partnering skills. It suits a solid performer with a desire to grow their skills.

What you must have to apply:
Previous experience in a small to medium sized business with experience in administration, accounts payable, or a similar support role.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation
Excellent communication skills – an ability to communicate with our suppliers in a professional manner
Strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, well-organised and ability to manage and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of IT systems and willingness to learn new systems.
Demonstrated capability to embrace change
