As our Assistant Accountant, you'll support the efficient delivery of financial operations and ensure our financial systems remain accurate, compliant and well‑managed.

What You'll Do:

In this hands‑on role, you'll provide essential accounting and finance support, including:

  • Deliver day‑to‑day financial processing across accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and credit card transactions
  • Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register, including additions, transfers and depreciation calculations
  • Prepare month‑end journals, accruals and account reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements, including audits and compliance obligations
  • Ensure financial records meet Australian Accounting Standards and BHI policies and procedures
  • Provide high‑quality support to staff across BHI and contribute to a collaborative, positive team culture

This Opportunity is full time. Salary is PACCT 5 $73,730.51 plus 12% superannuation.

About you:

  • A tertiary qualification in commerce/accounting and experience in a similar role
  • Current and sound experience in the relevant field
  • Experience in working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve team goals, including excellent organisational skills, flexibility during peak periods, and ability to adapt to changing priorities is essential
  • CA/CPA membership (completed or in progress)
  • Strong financial reporting, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • A commitment to quality, accountability and a willingness to learn and grow
  • Victorian Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check clearance
