The Role

This integral Payroll position sits in a high-volume, fast-paced fortnightly payroll environment where you'll be trusted to take ownership, think on your feet, and deliver accurate payroll in a deadline driven, multi entity environment. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, Payroll Operations and other key internal stakeholders to ensure payroll is accurate and compliant

 Joining a large, high performing and established Payroll team, you'll be responsible for end-to-end processing across a complex workforce, working in a time of change and transition with new systems and processes, as part of a whole agenda in increasing efficiencies across the business.  
  
Responsibilities will include:
  

  • Payroll processing across multiple entities
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • Payroll accruals/journals
  • Payroll tax, Workcover, Super calculations
  • Update systems/procedures
  • Updating and maintaining personal records
  • Processing new starters
  • Time Attendance
  • Terminations/annual leave calculations
  • Overtime calculations
  • Multiple EBA Award and interpretation
  • Other Ad hoc tasks as required by Payroll Manager
About YouThis role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a natural problem solver, is inquisitive and always at looking at ways to improve. You will enjoy what sits behind the numbers in Payroll rather than simply processing.

Experience performing end to end Payroll in businesses of complexity, with multiple Awards/EBA’s across a very large casual/fill time workforce across a multi entity business will be looked upon favorably.
Large Payroll systems experience particularly in Dayforce will be highly favorable (or other systems such as Preceda, SAGE, HR3, Chris 21 etc). Experience in NZ Payroll is also desirable but not essential.

 Other attributes required;
 

  • Excellent communication skills- ability to translate payroll in layman’s terms
  • Ability to embrace change
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team 
  • High Attention to detail 
  • 2+ Years prior experience in a similar- high volume role
