About the Role


As a Product Safety Specialist within the Cosmetics and Biocides team, you will play a key role in ensuring Essity’s products meet the highest safety, compliance, and sustainability standards. With a global scope, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and international stakeholders to assess product safety, reduce risk, and deliver value to customers and consumers.

What You Will Do
  • Conduct product safety assessments for cosmetics, biocides, air care, detergents, perfumes, and additives used in hygiene products

  • Evaluate the impact of product processes on safety and perform risk assessments

  • Develop and provide product safety guidance to support cross-functional projects

  • Support customer enquiries, complaint investigations, and product safety incidents

  • Deliver training and share knowledge to build product safety capability across the business

  • Contribute as an active team member in both strategic and operational initiatives

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product safety, toxicology, market trends, and regulatory requirements

Who You Are
  • You hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related field

  • You bring a few years of experience in product safety, human toxicology, or a similar discipline

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to decision-making

  • You are familiar with cosmetics and hygiene products, including ingredient evaluation

  • You have a solid understanding of Australian and New Zealand regulatory requirements

  • You are curious, adaptable, and eager to grow your expertise in product safety

  • You thrive in a global, fast-paced, and collaborative environment and approach your work with energy and attention to detail
