Payroll Project Specialist | 5-Month Contract
MARS Recruitment is partnering with a well-established organisation undergoing an exciting payroll transformation project and seeking an experienced Payroll Project Specialist to join the team on an initial 5-month contract.
This role will play a key part in supporting the implementation of a new payroll system while also assisting with business-as-usual payroll activities during a busy period.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will support the rollout and optimisation of UKG and Payroll Metrics while contributing to payroll operations, compliance and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support payroll system implementation, testing, validation and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Assist with the rollout and optimisation of UKG and Payroll Metrics
- Support end-to-end payroll processing and payroll compliance activities
- Assist with EOFY processing, annual salary reviews and bonus administration
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Partner with key stakeholders across payroll, finance and HR teams
About You
- Previous experience in a Senior Payroll Officer, Payroll Specialist or Payroll Project role
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards and payroll compliance
- Experience supporting payroll system implementations or transformation projects
- Exposure to UKG, Payroll Metrics or Micropay highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work across both project and operational environments
- Available to commence at short notice
