Family Doctor Pty Ltd is Australia’s largest 100% doctor-owned medical group, operating a national network of GP clinics across Victoria, West Australia, ACT, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Our finance team supports a complex, multi-entity healthcare operation, and we are seeking a qualified Accountant to join us on a permanent full-time basis.

About the role
Reporting to the senior finance team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions across our clinic network. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing financial statements, management reports and reconciliations
  • Maintaining the general ledger and overseeing month-end and year-end close
  • Processing and reviewing accounts payable and receivable
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis
  • Preparing BAS, IAS and other statutory and taxation lodgements
  • Supporting payroll reconciliation and intercompany transactions across multiple practice entities
  • Liaising with external auditors, advisors and the ATO
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant regulatory requirements

Skills and experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
  • CPA or CA qualification (or actively progressing toward completion)
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, GST, BAS/IAS and statutory reporting obligations
  • Proficiency with accounting software (experience with MYOB Acumatica highly regarded)
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical and Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
