Are you an enthusiastic accounting professional looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a leading independent supplier to the Construction industry is seeking a talented and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity to grow your skills within a stable, well-established organisation that champions teamwork, integrity and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the CFO and Accounting Manager, you'll be a key part of the Treasury team; ensuring accurate financial reporting and contributing to the smooth running of accounting operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting month-end close and reporting activities

  • Reconciling bank accounts and preparing monthly reports

  • Uploading and processing daily bank transactions and EFT payments

  • Managing monthly standing and recurring journals

  • Assisting in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports

  • Maintaining accurate records for the asset register and general ledger

  • Understanding and applying raw material and fuel reporting procedures

  • Preparing monthly Fuel Tax Credit claims

  • Supporting year-end financial processes, including FBT and BAS returns

  • Assisting with Chart of Accounts and ERP financial system updates

  • Ensuring compliance with the company's ERP Integrated Management System (IMS)

What we're looking for:

  • Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or similar

  • Minimum 3 years' accounting experience (ideally/preferably within Construction, manufacturing or industrial sectors)

  • Strong commercial awareness and a sharp eye for detail

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

  • High-level Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office

  • Experience with Oracle Financials is a bonus

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • A hands-on, can-do attitude with a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality
