About the Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Accountant ready to step up into a portfolio-leading role. You'll co-manage a portfolio of clients alongside one of our partners, owning the day-to-day relationship, leading the delivery of compliance and advisory work, and contributing to the bigger conversations around tax planning, structuring and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-manage a client portfolio alongside the partner, acting as a key day-to-day point of contact.

• Prepare and review financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and groups.

• Prepare and review income tax returns, BAS, IAS and FBT returns across a diverse range of entities.

• Contribute to tax planning, business structuring and restructuring advice.

• Provide advisory support on business operations, regulatory matters and group structures.

• Support SMSF compliance and advice in conjunction with our SMSF Manager.

• Mentor, review and develop junior accountants in the team.

• Identify opportunities to add value across the broader ASVW network (accounting, tax and wealth).

About You

• CA or CPA qualified (essential).

• 4+ years' experience in a public accounting practice.

• SMSF knowledge and experience well regarded but not essential.

• A genuine interest in tax planning, business structuring and advisory work.

• Experience with preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements will be highly regarded but not essential.

• Strong financial reporting and technical accounting skills.

• Experience mentoring and reviewing the work of junior staff.

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Xero Tax, BGL Simple Fund and Microsoft 365 (or the appetite to get there quickly).

• Working knowledge of Xero, MYOB, Reckon and QuickBooks.

• Strong client-facing communication skills and a genuine interest in building long-term client relationships.

• Proactive, commercially minded, and able to manage competing priorities.
