Initial 3-Month ContractRail | Maintenance | Commercial ContractsAn exciting contract opportunity exists for an experienced Category Specialist to support a leading rail and logistics operator's Rail Maintenance business.This role will focus on reviewing, drafting, negotiating and executing commercial agreements with key suppliers providing locomotive maintenance, overhauls, component repairs and associated fleet support services.Many of these suppliers have supported the business for years without formal contractual arrangements, creating a unique opportunity to establish robust commercial agreements, strengthen supplier governance and implement appropriate service levels, performance expectations and risk protections.Key ResponsibilitiesReview existing supplier arrangements and identify contractual gapsDraft, negotiate and execute supplier agreementsLead commercial negotiations with maintenance and engineering service providersEstablish governance frameworks, service levels and performance measuresPartner with operational and maintenance stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomesSupport supplier relationship and contract management activitiesAbout YouStrong experience in procurement, category management or contracts managementProven contract drafting and commercial negotiation capabilityAbility to work autonomously and engage effectively with suppliers and stakeholdersStrong commercial acumen and supplier management experienceHighly regarded:Rail, transport, logistics or heavy industry experienceMaintenance, engineering, MRO or asset-intensive procurement experienceThis role is ideal for an experienced Category Specialist, Contracts Specialist, Procurement Specialist or Commercial Manager looking for a hands-on contract assignment with immediate impact.
