We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business. This position offers a rare opportunity to work across a diverse construction and property portfolio within a well-established, family-owned organisation that values loyalty, accountability, and long-term relationships.
This is a hands-on part-time role with flexible hours based in the office, suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities, while contributing to reporting, compliance, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.
Beyond the technical responsibilities, this role offers genuine involvement in the broader business. You will work closely with senior leadership, gain exposure to both construction and property operations, and become a trusted part of a collaborative team where your input and experience will be highly valued.
What You'll DoFinancial Reporting & Forecasting
Prepare monthly reconciliations and reports
Complete end of month reporting across the group
Prepare cash flow forecasting
Liaise with the Financial Controller and remote accountant on financial records, budgets, and forecasts
Compliance & Lodgments
Prepare BAS and support income tax preparation
Manage PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax reconciliations and lodgements
Manage insurances and coordinate claims as required
Property Management
Prepare BAS for multiple entities in Xero quarterly and check for any discrepancies
Review outgoings and prepare annual outgoings Budget for self-managed tenancies
Review annual rental income ledgers against the records at the end of financial years
Attend the OC meeting when required
Overseeing the Property manager for new leases and lease renewals and reviewing monthly status for the property management and discussing any issues that need attention
You're an experienced accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, commercial environment. You take ownership of your work, think ahead, and don't need to be managed. Construction experience is a genuine advantage.
Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
15 years' minimum experience in a similar broad accounting role with Australian experience
Proven experience within a multi-entity or group structure
Strong knowledge of XERO
Solid understanding of BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and compliance lodgements
Experience with construction industry finance and property development management finance
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Confident working independently and collaborating directly with senior leadership
Excellent communication skills, honest, reliable, and solutions-focused
Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships
