Sunrays Timber & Steel Pty Ltd seeking an experienced and motivated Office Manager to oversee daily office operations, coordinate administrative functions, and support business efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing staff, maintaining operational systems, and ensuring compliance within a fast-paced construction supply environment.

Task & responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning, development, and review of office services, including establishing administrative procedures and service standards
  • Allocate and manage office resources, including staff, workspace, and equipment to ensure efficient workflow
  • Assign, supervise, and monitor staff performance, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain and oversee office records, financial documentation, and administrative systems
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, accounting professionals, and management to coordinate business operations and resolve issues efficiently
  • Ensure all office equipment, inventory, and supplies are adequately maintained and available
  • Monitor and enforce workplace health and safety standards in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian legislation, policies, and procedures, including workplace and industry regulations
  • Coordinate human resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, staff training, performance management, and supervision
  • Support customer service operations, including handling inquiries, quotes, and order coordination where required

Qualification & experience

  • Relevant qualification in Business Administration, Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in an Office Manager or similar administrative leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of office management systems, accounts handling, and administrative procedures
  • Experience in construction, timber, steel, or building supply industry (highly desirable)
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management systems
  • Knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS) and compliance requirements in Australia
