Our key specialties are Orthopaedics, ENT, General, Plastics, General Surgery, Urology, Endoscopy & Day Chemotherapy. There are four operating rooms, an endoscopy suite and 12 Day Oncology chairs.
Job Description
As part of the Patient Services Team, you will bring your enthusiasm and can-do attitude.
We are looking for a Part Time Patient Services Team member to work across a range of varied roles throughout their day including:
processing patient admissions
switchboard & reception and welcoming of patients
health-fund eligibility checks and patient fee estimates
assisting patients with pre-admission online registration forms
providing assistance with theatre bookings
preparation of patient medical records
We are looking for people with:
Appropriate experience in a similar Patient Services or Theatre Bookings role in a healthcare setting (desirable)
Experience with Patient Management Systems and patient admissions (desirable)
Knowledge of medical terminology
An understanding of private health fund billing (desirable)
Ability to perform Reception / Switchboard skills
Ability to scan medical records into digital system and perform quality document checks
Competent with MS Office applications and understanding of the principles of Hospital Management Systems
Willingness to learn and contribute to the team
Personal competencies required
Enthusiasm and motivation
Professional presentation
Well-developed interpersonal/communication (both written & verbal) skills and excellent customer service skills
Proven organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multi-task
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a harmonious environment
Ability to be sensitive to patients’ needs whilst maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
