The position 

We have a newly created Trainee Compliance Officer position to join our dynamic operations team based at Laverton, VIC. This full-time, permanent position that will see the successful candidate, grow and support the operations team in the area of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality and training. 

The candidate 

With an uncompromising commitment to learning and developing a career in the transport and Compliance industry as well as attention to detail, the successful team member will be highly focused with an excellent work ethic who prides themselves on always delivering a high level of excellence in their work.

The successful applicant will part of a team responsible for:     

  • Maintaining our safety and training management system 

  • Preparation of relevant documentation & paperwork 

  • Conduct job site safety and compliance inspections, safety hazard analysis and work procedures.

  • Undertake incident investigations and provide corrective actions and/or further recommendations. 

  • Fatigue management compliance and adherence 

  • Provide Safety updates and attend Toolbox meetings. 

  • Arrange medical bookings, Induction process and onboarding of new employees. 

  • Liaise with client and internal key management. 

  • Ensure timely completion of HSEQ reporting to the management team.

  • Perform internal and external audits. 

The successful candidate needs to have the below attributes: 

  • Passionate and highly motivated

  • Reliable, approachable, punctual with a professional attitude 

  • Be ready to be part of a proactive team. 

  • Strong written and Verbal communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Some experience with Microsoft Office.
