Finance Manager 

Company Overview: 

BeFloored is a growing and dynamic business within the construction industry, and we are currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to take ownership of our finance function and support the continued growth of the business.
 

Position Overview: 

This is a senior role that will see you working closely with senior management and playing a key part in business planning, financial strategy, and operational decision-making.

We are looking for someone who is confident managing a finance department, enjoys partnering with different teams across the business, and can provide meaningful financial insights to support strategic decisions.
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the month-end close process, including oversight of journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger governance.

  • Prepare and present monthly management reports and board packs, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, WIP, overhead analysis, retentions, bank guarantees and stock reporting.

  • Deliver financial analysis and commentary to support strategic planning and business performance.

  • Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to ensure accurate forecasting and cashflow planning across projects.

  • Manage cost centres, project budgets and financial reporting across the business.

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring strong financial controls and processes are maintained.

  • Manage progress claims, variations and project financial close-outs, ensuring all claims and contract sums are fully invoiced.

  • Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

  • Prepare accounts for BAS and assist external accountants with statutory reporting including PAYG, payroll tax and FBT.

  • Manage WorkCover and insurance documentation relevant to the building industry.

  • Maintain the insurance and fixed asset registers.

  • Provide financial support across related group entities, including hands-on involvement in transactional finance where required.

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls and timely month-end processes.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to improve financial processes, reporting and business efficiency.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry.

  • Proven ability to run and manage a finance department.

  • Strong experience planning, implementing and managing organisation-wide financial processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through financial insights.

  • Advanced MYOB experience.

  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to apply strategic thinking to financial reporting and analysis.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills, particularly Excel, SharePoint, Word and Outlook.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
