About the role 

The Retail Assistant is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to RSPCA Victoria customers.

Schedule 

This position offers a consistent schedule with a regular weekend commitment. 

  • Mondays to Fridays 
  • Every 2nd Saturday (e.g. 21 March, 4 April & 18 April 2026), with a day off in lieu for every Saturday worked.

What you will do 

Your day-to-day will include: 

  • Driving Sales: Actively engaging customers to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to meet monthly targets. 
  • Animal Welfare Advocacy: Providing education & guidance to the public to influence positive outcomes for their pets. 
  • Stock Management: Assisting with ordering, receiving, pricing, and conducting regular stocktakes. 
  • Merchandising: Create an attractive displays that encourage high turnover. 
  • E-commerce Support: Picking & packing online orders to ensure our digital customers are just as happy as our in-person ones.

Recruitment Requirements 

  • Ability to work the specified rotating Saturday roster (every 2nd Saturday), with a day off in lieu for every Saturday worked.
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check. 
  • Current and valid tetanus vaccination records.
