A Melbourne Headquartered General Insurance Brokerage is seeking an experienced Account Director/Corporate Team Leader to join our dynamic team in Williamstown, Victoria. This full-time role will see you playing a pivotal leadership and client-facing position within our growing Brokerage division and the influence this role will play in our commercial outcomes will be significant. What you'll be doing
Manage and lead a high-performing team of Account Executives, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure excellent client service delivery
This role will directly manage a team of 4-6 people
Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key larger mid-market and corporate clients, understanding their needs and tailoring insurance solutions accordingly
Identify and provide focus to new business opportunities, actively working on and supporting pipeline work to pitch and win new mid-market and corporate accounts
Run your own portfolio of $500 - $600k of Fee and Commissions (F&C)/Income. Be accountable for the performance of your portfolio whilst also supporting a new business target and management of your small team
Oversee the preparation of comprehensive insurance submissions and presentations to both Underwriters, Agencies and Clients alike
Monitor team and individual performance and management, setting clear objectives and KPIs to drive robust and challenging commercial objectives
Collaborate closely with the broader Corporate and Commercial Insurance team to share knowledge and best practice across technical broking, compliance, client and market management
Remain up-to-date with industry regulations, trends and competitor activity
What we're looking for
Significant (8+ years) experience in a similar Account Director/Corporate Team Leader role within the General Insurance industry
Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
Exceptional relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Gravitas - we are looking for someone to help drive proactive, engaged outcomes with both our markets and our clients. Presence is important to us as we help support our brand in the market.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities - this capacity will provide a real focus to our commercial outcomes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
Ideally a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Business, Commerce or Insurance, however, General Insurance qualifications would suffice
Tier 1 General Insurance qualifications are required for this position
Australian work authorisation is required for this role
