Account Manager – Solar Distribution

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused Account Manager to develop and maintain strong relationships with solar installers, electrical contractors, and renewable energy businesses across Victoria and other assigned territories. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, identify new business opportunities, and provide exceptional customer support while promoting our portfolio of solar and energy storage products.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts.

  • Understand customer business needs and provide tailored solutions.

  • Conduct regular customer visits, meetings, and product presentations.

Sales & Business Development
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

  • Identify and secure new customers within the solar and renewable energy sector.

  • Develop account growth strategies and sales plans.

  • Generate and manage a healthy sales pipeline through CRM systems.

Product & Technical Support
  • Maintain strong knowledge of solar PV systems, batteries, inverters, and emerging technologies.

  • Assist customers with product selection and system recommendations.

  • Coordinate with technical support teams to resolve customer issues.

  • Provide product training and educational sessions to customers.

Market Intelligence
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.

  • Gather customer feedback and communicate market requirements internally.

  • Identify opportunities for new product introductions and market expansion.

Internal Collaboration
  • Work closely with procurement, logistics, marketing, and technical teams.

  • Coordinate inventory availability and delivery schedules.

  • Support forecasting and demand planning activities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Sales revenue growth.

  • Gross margin achievement.

  • Customer retention rate.

  • New account acquisition.

  • CRM activity and pipeline management.

  • Customer satisfaction scores.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

  • 3–5+ years of account management, sales, or business development experience.

  • Experience within solar, electrical wholesale, renewable energy, battery storage, or related industries is highly desirable.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Strong understanding of the Australian solar market.
