Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.

  • Record daily financial transactions in accounting software.

  • Manage general ledger entries and account reconciliations.

  • Prepare and process journal entries as required.

Accounts Payable
  • Process supplier invoices and verify purchase orders.

  • Schedule and process vendor payments.

  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.

  • Maintain records of solar equipment purchases and freight costs.

Accounts Receivable
  • Generate customer invoices and statements.

  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments.

  • Record incoming payments and allocate receipts accurately.

  • Assist with credit control and customer account management.

Bank and Cash Reconciliations
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations.

  • Monitor cash flow and report variances.

  • Maintain accurate records of company credit card transactions.

Inventory and Cost Tracking
  • Record inventory purchases and adjustments.

  • Assist in tracking inventory costs, landed costs, and stock movements.

  • Reconcile inventory records with warehouse and distribution reports.

  • Support inventory audits and stock counts.

Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and management summaries.

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

  • Support budgeting and cash flow forecasting activities.

  • Provide financial data and analysis to management as requested.

Compliance and Administration
  • Ensure compliance with tax, GST/VAT, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems.

  • Assist external accountants and auditors during audits and tax preparation.

  • Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field.

  • Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in distribution, wholesale, renewable energy, or inventory-based businesses.

  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.

  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.

Skills and Competencies
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential financial information.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Understanding of inventory accounting and distribution operations.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in the solar, electrical, renewable energy, or wholesale distribution industry.

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP platforms.

  • Knowledge of import/export transactions, freight costs, and landed cost accounting.
