We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented WHS & Compliance Officer to oversee workplace health, safety, and compliance across our warehouse facilities in Melbourne's west.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating a safe working environment, maintaining compliance standards, and working closely with warehouse teams to drive continuous improvement.
Mandarin language skills are highly preferred, as the role involves communicating with a multilingual workforce.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain WHS systems and procedures across 5 warehouse sites.
Conduct regular warehouse safety inspections and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation and company policies.
Investigate workplace incidents, hazards, and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks.
Maintain WHS records, registers, and compliance documentation.
Liaise with warehouse managers to improve safety performance and operational compliance.
Monitor and support return-to-work and injury management processes where required.
Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience in a WHS, Compliance, or Safety Officer role, preferably within warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing.
Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and best practices.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites.
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel between warehouse locations.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin is highly preferred.
Relevant WHS qualifications (Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent) will be highly regarded.
