Summary of Position
We currently have a number positions available across the Victoria Region. This role is responsible for undertaking a variety of underground utility surveying and service locating tasks in line with our clients work requests. It will be the Service Locators role to ensure that outcomes are delivered to the required standard and schedule.
Relationship & Authorities:
Reports to the State Operations Manager/Coordinator;
Works closely with Utility Surveyors and NDD Truck operators;
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
1-5 years experience of undertaking Utility Surveys using of GPR (ground penetrating radar) systems and EMF (electro-magnetic frequency) detectors;
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable
Industry qualifications in utility locating:
Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) Certified Locator;
Staking-U or NULCA (National Utility Locating Contractords Association) accredited locating certification;
Equivelant Utility Location training/accreditation
Profficient in both 2D and 3D CAD deliverables (AutoCAD, Briscad, Revit, NavisWorks, interactive PDF);
First Aid Certificate;
Confined Spaces Certifed Training;
Working with Live Rail Certification (State authority dependent);
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake any such service locates/surveys as requested by the State Operatrions Manager and/or Operations Coordinator;
Ensure utility surveys are completed in an efficient, safe and professional manner;
Ensure allocated equipment and vehicle are maintained and kept at a high standard;
Ensure clear records of job progress are kept for invoicing;
Manage workflow and assignment of jobs;
Ensure professional, competent, and quality assured procedures and methods are being met;
Pre-organise job requirements (DBYD information, field notes, record drawings)
Ensure that all deliverables are checked and signed-off prior to being sent to clients;
Maintain frequent contact with the State Operations Manager and/or Coordinator;
Training and mentoring of new Asset Survey staff;
Ensure a duty of care is maintained at all times in relation to occupational health and safety.
