Pickney ELC is seeking an experienced, passionate and hands-on Centre Manager to lead our beautiful boutique early learning service in Beaumaris.

About the Role

As Centre Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service while leading a team of educators to deliver exceptional care and education.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will be actively involved in all aspects of the centre, from supporting educators and engaging with families to maintaining compliance and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  •  Lead, mentor and support a team of educators

  •  Foster a positive, collaborative and professional culture

  •  Lead by example and maintain high standards across the service

  •  Support staff development, performance and continuous improvement

Family Engagement & Occupancy Growth

  •  Build strong and genuine relationships with families

  •  Conduct centre tours and confidently showcase the service

  •  Ensure excellent communication with families through daily interactions and updates

  •  Create a welcoming environment where children and families feel valued

Educational Leadership

  • Support the implementation of engaging and high-quality educational programs

  • Ensure curriculum experiences remain diverse, creative and developmentally appropriate

  • Promote learning opportunities across literacy, numeracy, science, nature-based learning, arts and cultural experiences

  • Maintain high-quality learning environments and displays

Compliance & Operations

  • Ensure the service remains compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations and National Quality Standards

  • Manage centre systems, enrolments and attendance records

  • Maintain centre resources, supplies and ordering processes

  • Oversee incident management, documentation and family communication

  • Coordinate maintenance requirements and ensure the service remains safe, organised and well-presented

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education

  • Previous experience in a Centre Manager, Assistant Director, Educational Leader or similar leadership position

  • Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Regulations and Child Safe Standards

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach

  • Experience leading teams and driving positive outcomes

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills

  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma qualifications

  • Current Working with Children Check
