About the role

Laverton Community Integrated Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Support Worker to join our team on a part-time basis. Based in Laverton, VIC 3028, this role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of our community services and development initiatives, with a focus on volunteer coordination and support.

What you'll be doing

• Recruiting, training, and managing a team of volunteers to support the delivery of our community programs and services

• Providing ongoing support, supervision, and motivation to volunteers to ensure they are able to contribute effectively

• Matching volunteers to suitable roles and responsibilities based on their skills, interests, and availability

• Organising volunteer recognition and appreciation events to celebrate their contributions

• Maintaining detailed records of volunteer hours, activities, and feedback

• Coordinating and supporting existing volunteers by maintaining platforms such as Better Impact, with experience on this platform preferred but not essential

• Identifying and addressing any issues or concerns raised by volunteers

• Collaborating with the broader team to enhance the volunteer experience and improve volunteer retention

• Recruiting and inducting new volunteers with onboarding procedures including completion of both Working with Children Check and Police Check

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a volunteer management or community support role

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively engage with volunteers

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

• A deep understanding of the local community and the challenges faced by various stakeholders

• A passion for making a positive impact and supporting the development of our community

• Familiarity with relevant legislation and best practices in volunteer management
