Job description:

Join Stockland's Masterplanned Communities Development team in Victoria and play a leading role in growing communities. As a Development Manager, you will drive delivery outcomes across the projects, contributing to places designed for diverse lifestyles, strong community connection and long-term sustainability.

This role is based in our Melbourne CBD Head Office with flexibility to work between the CBD, project offices and home.

We are looking for a Development Manager to guide the strategic direction and delivery of high quality masterplanned communities. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will manage projects from inception to completion, build strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure each project aligns with Stockland's vision and commercial objectives.

What you will do

  • Lead project scoping, design and delivery in line with strategy, customer needs and profitability targets
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to guide decision making
  • Champion sustainability initiatives at project level
  • Oversee all phases of delivery including design, approvals, contracts, risks and customer outcomes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with authorities, consultants, contractors and internal teams
  • Monitor market trends and industry activity to inform project direction
  • Lead and support team members to foster a high performing and collaborative culture
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through project reviews and process enhancements

About You

You are a strategic thinker with strong commercial capability and exceptional communication skills. You bring proven stakeholder management and leadership experience, with the ability to guide and develop your direct reports through complex challenges. Collaborative by nature, you thrive in fast‑paced environments and have a genuine passion for creating thriving, community‑focused places.

Experience and Skills That Count

  • Proven experience in development management, ideally within greenfield residential land or related sectors
  • Strong project management capability across planning, financial modelling, cost management and risk assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Commercial acumen with strong forecasting and financial management experience
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Customer centric mindset and ability to apply insights to guide project decisions
  • Tertiary qualifications in property, development or related discipline
