About the role

Endless Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Disability Support Worker to join our team around the surrounding areas of Ringwood, Victoria. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals, helping them to live as independently as possible and participate fully in their communities. This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support services.

Key responsibilities

  1. Provide personal care assistance, including help with activities of daily living such as grooming, hygiene, and dressing

  2. Support individuals with mobility assistance and safe handling techniques to promote independence and prevent injury

  3. Assist with household tasks and meal preparation to help maintain a safe and comfortable living environment

  4. Accompany and support service users to medical appointments, community activities, and social outings

  5. Encourage and support individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities that interest them

  6. Communicate effectively with service users, families, and the wider support team to ensure coordinated and consistent care

  7. Maintain detailed and accurate records of support provided and any relevant observations or concerns

  8. Respect and uphold the dignity, privacy, and rights of all individuals supported

  9. Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and duty-of-care responsibilities to ensure a safe environment

  10. Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and maintaining professional standards

What we're looking for

  1. A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to person-centered care

  2. Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or a related care environment is highly valued

  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

  4. A good understanding of duty of care, safeguarding, and confidentiality requirements

  5. Physical capability to assist with mobility and personal care tasks safely and effectively

  6. A valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one as part of the recruitment process

  7. Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification as required

  8. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to manage time effectively, particularly important in a casual role

  9. A flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to varying support needs and schedules

  10. Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent are desirable
