Job Description:

As a Support Worker at Disability Choice Matters, you will play a vital role in providing assistance and care to individuals with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
 

- Working experience around High Intensity and Autism level 3 is preferable.

- Priority will be given to candidates for whom this is their only job, as more shifts will be available for them.

- The participant has a history of physical or verbal aggression. Staff with prior experience managing such behaviours are preferred, as the right approach and understanding can help prevent or de-escalate incidents and reduce the risk of injury during a participant’s meltdown.

- Supporting individuals in their daily activities, promoting independence and choice.

- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

- Collaborating with healthcare professionals and families to ensure a holistic approach to care.

- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and any specific needs identified in individual care plans.

- Documenting and reporting on the progress and well-being of clients.

- Staff who are willing to travel to Tarneit will be given higher priority.

Qualifications:

- Minimum Cert III

- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.

- Compassionate and patient demeanor.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to adapt to diverse needs and situations.

- Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy a plus.

  • NDIS screening check (Active)

  • Current Police Check 

  • NDIS Orientation Module

  • Covid19/Infection control Module

  • Full Driving License
