About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and physically capable Construction Worker to join our civil works team. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery and maintenance of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, pavements, and general construction work. You will operate a range of plant and equipment and work collaboratively within a team environment to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. A strong focus on safety, teamwork, and customer service is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate civil construction plant and equipment such as graders, excavators, backhoes, and skid steers
  • Undertake civil construction and maintenance works including roads, pavements, drainage, and earthworks
  • Perform tasks involving crushed rock pavements, paving, concreting, and bulk excavation
  • Carry out general construction and maintenance duties as directed
  • Follow safe work practices, site procedures, and traffic management requirements
  • Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects on time and to specification
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and members of the public where required
  • Maintain a customer service focus while working in public spaces
  • Assist with site setup, clean-up, and basic maintenance of tools and equipment

Key Requirements:

  • Good level of physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour outdoors
  • Experience operating civil construction plant such as graders, excavators, backhoes, and skid steers
  • Qualifications and/or tickets related to civil construction works
  • Skills and knowledge in civil construction including pavements, concreting, drainage, and excavation
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
  • Traffic management accreditation is advantageous but not essential
