Job Title: Quality Control Officer Location: Braeside VIC 3195 Hours of Work: NIGHT SHIFT 7PM - 7AM 12hr shift - 7 day fortnight - rotating roster (Monday to Sunday) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $78,000 - $85,000 About

Us: Laurent Bakery, a renowned Australian-owned, French-inspired artisan bakery, has been warming the hearts of Melbournians for nearly three decades. With 17 fully owned cafes and two state-of-the-art production facilities, we are committed to maintaining exceptional product standards. We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Officer to oversee night production at our Braeside facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Testing food products for flavour, colour, taste, texture and nutritional content.
  • Advising on preserving, processing, packaging, storing and delivering foods.
  • Developing quality control procedures and safety standards for the manufacture of food products.
  • Developing, implementing, auditing and monitoring quality procedures at farms and food handling and processing facilities to ensure compliance with required standards.
  • Testing samples of produce for quality, size and purity ensuring that required standards of hygiene are observed at storage, processing and packing facilities and in transport vehicles.
  • Inspecting animals, plants and agricultural produce to identify product quality issues.
  • Ensures food safety and quality by testing and analysing samples of raw materials, ingredients and finished products
  • Testing flavour, colour, taste, texture and nutritional content
  • Assist in developments and maintains quality systems for food processing.
  • Developing quality control procedures and safety standards
  • Advising on preserving, processing, packaging and storing foods via HACCP process
  • Monitoring compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
  • Inspecting raw material and finished product to identify product quality issues
  • Assist to development, implementing, auditing and monitoring quality procedures and food handling and processing facilities
  • Assist to development and auditing quality procedures
  • Testing samples of produce for quality, size and compliance.
  • Testing food samples for quality and nutritional attributes.
  • Ensuring hygiene standards at storage, processing and packing facilities and transport vehicles
  • Overseeing hygiene practices and regulatory compliance
  • Develops, implements and oversees monitoring, testing and application of quality assurance programs
  • Monitors production requirements relating to food safety or quality assurance

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in Applied Science (Food Science and Technology).
  • Current HACCP certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position within the food industry, including quality assurance (e.g., taking temperatures)
  • Strong ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in reading and writing reports
