The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Cream Cheese Plant Operator to join our afternoon shift team (2pm - 10pm).
This is a hands-on role central to our production operation, you will manage the cream cheese plant to achieve production targets, maintain quality standards, and ensure seamless shift handovers in our 24/5 manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Start-up, operation and shut-down of the pasteuriser and cream cheese plant
Manage plant operations to meet production schedules and efficiency targets
Receive and verify raw materials, consumables, ingredients, labels and packaging
Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues to minimise downtime
Communicate maintenance requirements with Maintenance team
Complete stocktakes and assist with inventory control
Maintain HACCP, GMP, CCP and all quality assurance records accurately and on time
Confirm and document CIP processes and maintain cleaning records
Assist the Quality Manager with compliance, customer complaint investigations and audit readiness
Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with OHS policies
Identify continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations
Communicate shift issues and handover information clearly to incoming teams
What We're Looking For
Minimum 3 years' experience in food manufacturing — dairy industry experience highly regarded
Strong understanding and practical application of HACCP and GMP quality systems
Demonstrated machinery competency and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety systems and safe work practices
Good computer skills with ability to maintain accurate production and quality records
Strong communication skills and English literacy
Ability to cover shifts across all shift patterns when required
A continuous improvement mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
