The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cream Cheese Plant Operator to join our afternoon shift team (2pm - 10pm).

This is a hands-on role central to our production operation, you will manage the cream cheese plant to achieve production targets, maintain quality standards, and ensure seamless shift handovers in our 24/5 manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Start-up, operation and shut-down of the pasteuriser and cream cheese plant

• Manage plant operations to meet production schedules and efficiency targets

• Receive and verify raw materials, consumables, ingredients, labels and packaging

• Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues to minimise downtime

• Communicate maintenance requirements with Maintenance team

• Complete stocktakes and assist with inventory control

• Maintain HACCP, GMP, CCP and all quality assurance records accurately and on time

• Confirm and document CIP processes and maintain cleaning records

• Assist the Quality Manager with compliance, customer complaint investigations and audit readiness

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with OHS policies

• Identify continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations

• Communicate shift issues and handover information clearly to incoming teams

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years' experience in food manufacturing — dairy industry experience highly regarded

• Strong understanding and practical application of HACCP and GMP quality systems

• Demonstrated machinery competency and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues

• Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety systems and safe work practices

• Good computer skills with ability to maintain accurate production and quality records

• Strong communication skills and English literacy

• Ability to cover shifts across all shift patterns when required

• A continuous improvement mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
