Draft and refine key university policies over an 8‑week project, creating a centralised Refund Policy with strong team and SME support.

About the role
This 8‑week HEW 7 assignment is responsible for drafting a new Refund Policy for both domestic and international students, consolidating existing discovery work and validating findings with key stakeholders. You will also refine an existing draft of the Scholarship and Prizes Policy. Working closely with the Fees Team and subject matter experts, you'll produce governance‑ready policy documents using established templates.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a consolidated Refund Policy using prior discovery materials
  • Validate draft content with stakeholders including Fees, International Admissions, and Finance
  • Benchmark against comparable policies from other Australian institutions
  • Refine the Scholarships and Prizes Policy draft, focusing on scholarships and gifts
  • Prepare both policies in governance‑ready format using approved templates


About the organisation

Experience required

  • Demonstrated experience drafting policy in a university or TAFE environment
  • Understanding of both domestic and international student policy considerations
  • Strong ability to consolidate complex or dispersed information into clear policy
  • Experience engaging and validating content with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Familiarity with policy benchmarking within the higher education sector
