We’re looking for a talented and organised Graphic Designer who can bring Hume’s visual identity to life across print, digital and online channels. About The Role
As our Graphic Designer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring Hume City Council’s visual communications are clear, consistent and engaging. You will work across a wide range of projects − from community newsletters and brochures to digital campaigns, photography and brand governance.
Your work will help staff communicate effectively, strengthen Council’s corporate identity and ensure our community receives information they can trust and understand.
What You’ll Do
Brand managementEnsure all in‑house designed materials meet Council’s corporate identity, strategic objectives and Hume ValuesDevelop and maintain brand guidelines, templates and procedures that support consistent and effective visual communicationProvide expert advice to staff to help them apply Council’s identity correctlyMonitor marketing and communications materials for brand compliance and resolve any issuesManage relationships with external graphic designers and maintain a preferred supplier list Graphic designCreate high‑quality designs for print and digital platforms, ensuring they are accessible, consistent and aligned with the brandProduce original concepts with strong creativity, innovation and technical judgmentCarry out design production tasks including scanning, layout, desktop publishing and electronic pre‑pressWork closely with external printers, paper suppliers and agencies to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality productionMaintain design systems, processes and policies to support efficient deliveryOversee the production and timely distribution of Council’s print materials such as brochures, newsletters and pamphletsEnsure all projects undergo thorough proofing, checking and quality assurance} PhotographyPlan, arrange and capture photographs for Council’s external communicationsUpload, tag and maintain images within Council’s digital asset library Other responsibilitiesProvide advice across the organisation on effective communication and opportunities to positively profile Council and the CityContribute to communication policies, systems and continuous improvement projectsSupport administrative tasks including purchasing, invoice processing and information managementParticipate in local and regional networks to stay up to date with emerging trends and good practiceAssist with Council events, functions and activities as required
About You
