About the Role
In the position as Educator, you’ll play a key role in designing and supporting curriculum initiatives that foster enriching experiences for children. You’ll assist the Team Leader in creating meaningful, engaging programs based on the National Quality Framework and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, and you’ll communicate openly with parents, staff, and your team.
We offer exciting opportunities to engage in leadership roles in our Twilight Program and to as acting Team Leader during our holiday programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Engagement: Coordinate and develop individual learning plans and participate in creating inviting and engaging learning spaces that encourages a child’s love for learning.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with dedicated professionals to create a welcoming learning environment that values every community member's voice and prioritises high staff-to-child ratios. Foster a collegial and professional atmosphere through regular team meetings and cooperative efforts, ensuring a supportive and inclusive setting for all.
  • Professional Development: Commit to continuous learning, sharing new insights with the team to ensure exemplary early childhood practice, with a dedicated professional learning budget for the MLC Kindle team. Supported in your own professional development through engagement with the Educational Leader and specific critical reflection groups to enhance personal and professional growth.
  • Family Engagement: Establish open communication with parents, assisting families as they transition into MLC Kindle, and supporting them in their parenting journey
  • Collaboration: Engage with staff across MLC, from Junior School to specialist areas like Music and Gymnastics, creating opportunities for children to explore varied activities.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent Early Childhood qualification.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and Reggio Emilia philosophy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a proactive and organised approach.
  • Administrative skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and general computer literacy.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check
  • Rights to Work in Australia
