About the job
The Clinical Educator plays an integral role in the Early Career Program (ECP). They will provide supervision and support for students and graduates and act as a key clinical mentor to the newly qualified clinicians helping them to integrate learning into practice.
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager you will:
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to students and graduate clinicians, supporting high-quality clinical practice and documentation.
- Coordinate student placements, building strong partnerships with universities and ensuring effective placement experiences.
- Support delivery of lower intensity mental health interventions through the Brief Interventions Clinic (BIC) program.
- Lead and contribute to clinical training and professional development activities to build capability across staff and students.
- Maintain strong collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders, contributing to service evaluation, quality improvement and program development.
Skills and experience
The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
- Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline. (Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Mental Health Nursing) and full registration with AHPRA or AASW (or eligibility for).
- Ability to provide supervision to headspace students relevant for discipline.
- Strong leadership skills and experience with ability to work effectively with senior management, staff and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in providing leadership and supervision to students.
- Ability to be self-motivated and directed, demonstrating a sound ability to proactively oversee and make decisions in relation to the intake/assessment services and young people’s suitability for ongoing treatment/support services at the centre.
