Box Hill Institute is seeking an inspiring and dedicated Lecturer for our Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, based at our Elgar Road (Box Hill) Campus. This is a fantastic casual opportunity to be part of a dynamic College of Higher Education team within our Biosecurity, Education & Community Services division.

In this role, you'll bring your advanced expertise in Early Childhood Education to life - delivering high quality, engaging learning experiences to future educators. You will also play a key role in developing and managing innovative teaching resources through our student learning management system, ensuring students receive an exceptional educational journey from start to finish.

What you'll do:

  • Provide high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to students.
  • Support student success in their courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways.
  • Design and develop teaching and learning resources including tailoring materials into a range of formats to suit varying learning styles and to develop course related skills.
  • Ensure BHI compliance requirements are met, and quality education is delivered to students.

About you:

  • Current and sound knowledge of the broad Australian Early Childhood Industry. Demonstrated extensive experience in at least one and preferably more than one sector of the Australian early childhood industry.

This is a casual opportunity. The role offers a Lecture rate $174.41 p/hr, tutorial rate $136.08 p/hr plus 12% superannuation.

To be considered for this position, you must hold, or be willing to obtain, a Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A Doctorate, PhD or Master's in Education, specialising in Early Childhood Education and Teaching.
  • Current membership (Early Childhood) Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Teaching experiences preferred and a passion for sharing knowledge and experience is essential
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the faculty.
  • Ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students
  • Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools
