Oz Education is actively seeking a part-time (30 - 34 hrs per week) cook for our childcare centre located in Footscray!
If you are an experienced cook with knowledge in early childhood menus, food preparation for children with allergies and intolerances and meet the following criteria, please submit your cover letter and resume.
The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate an understanding of early childhood nutrition and dietary guidelines.
Demonstrate proficiency in planning menus tailored for early childhood.
Demonstrate knowledge of ingredients and suitable substitutes for children with allergies, intolerances, and diverse cultural food preferences.
Be able to efficiently manage food ordering and kitchen supplies through online websites such as Woolworths.
Coordinate and prepare food for centre events.
Demonstrate an understanding of correct food handling procedures and maintain the kitchen health and hygiene in line with regulatory and company standards.
Skillfully prepare, cook, and serve meals and snacks to children
Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the centre director.

Essential Requirements
Current Child Protection Training
A demonstrated understanding of child protection and safeguarding responsibilities in early childhood settings
Knowledge of mandatory reporting obligations and relevant child protection legislation
Understanding of professional boundaries and appropriate behaviours when working with children
Ability to identify and respond to indicators of abuse, harm, or neglect
Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality requirements relating to children and families
Experience implementing child-safe policies and procedures
Applicants will be required to undergo comprehensive background checks, including:
