About the Department

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Role

The Data Analyst, Workers Compensation Team, is responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting, dashboard maintenance, ad hoc analysis, reconciliation support, and advice to stakeholders. The role works with qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to support workers compensation performance, health, safety and wellbeing outcomes, and informed decision-making.

The role contributes to routine operational reporting, data quality, reconciliation processes, performance monitoring and continuous improvement, and works closely with internal stakeholders and external system and business intelligence contacts to support consistent, reliable and fit-for-purpose reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor's or Postgraduate qualifications in a data and analytical related field i.e. Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research.
  • Qualification and/or work experience in health and safety or workers compensation
  • A minimum of 2+ years' experience in data analysis and/or quantitative research methods Intermediate skills in coding languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python)
