The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Individual Differences Teacher to join our vibrant learning community in a part-time (FTE 0.6), fixed-term role supporting students with diverse learning needs across our Secondary School until the end of Term 4.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every student achieve their full potential. Reporting to the Head of Individual Differences, the Individual Differences Teacher works collaboratively to provide tailored learning support and personalised educational programs. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver targeted learning support to students with diverse learning needs through classroom teaching, small-group instruction, and individual intervention.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), Learning Profiles, and personalised learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers to provide curriculum adjustments and inclusive teaching practices that support student success.
  • Assess student learning needs and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Teach and support literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning programs, including Year 7–9 LINKS classes and literacy intervention initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships with students, families, staff, and external specialists to support educational and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Lead Student Support Group meetings and contribute to educational pathway planning, NCCD processes, and special provisions applications.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues and Educational Support Staff while fostering a positive, inclusive, and child-safe learning environment.

Successful applicants will:

  • Hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration. 
  • Hold a Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification, along with relevant teaching experience 
  • Have the ability to teach our LINKS class (literacy, numeracy, executive functioning) Year 7 to 9.
  • Demonstrate high level knowledge of NCCD requirements and learning support funding processes.
  • Have experience in, and passion for, case managing students with diverse learning needs.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of differentiated teaching practices and inclusive education, including the ability to oversee Individual Learning Plans.
  • Provide a current Victoria Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Hold current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management qualifications.
  • Have excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
