About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our Engineering team at our Melbourne Airport site. You will lead the maintenance function across our automated sortation systems and depot equipment, ensuring preventative maintenance, rapid repairs, and safe, efficient operations.
This role requires strong technical capability across mechanical and electrical maintenance within an industrial environment, as well as proven leadership experience. You will oversee maintenance personnel, manage maintenance schedules, ensure compliance with WHS requirements, and support continuous improvement across our Engineering function.
Although based in Melbourne Airport, this position may also provide hands-on support to local smaller sites across Victoria when required.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of maintenance tradespeople, providing training, guidance, and support
Ensure preventative maintenance and rapid repairs of automated sortation and freight handling equipment, ensuring execution standards of the team are delivered in full
Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules and procedures utilising site CMMS (MEx) to systemise this process and record work history
Maintain critical spare parts inventory (Engineering Store, CMMS inventory records and purchasing processes) and ensure tools and equipment are available for the team, taking ownership of the effective functioning of the on-site Engineering Workhsop
Collaborate with the Engineering Leadership Team to drive process improvements and support the Engineering Strategy
Manage supplier and contractor relationships to ensure ongoing maintenance support
Promote a safety-first mindset and ensure compliance with WHS/OHS standards
About You
Skills & Experience:
Must be a 100% team player, have initiative, be a self-starter, and very motivated
Experience leading maintenance or reliability teams in continuous process or industrial environments
Strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance of powered industrial equipment
Knowledge of carton and package handling conveyor systems
Experience with carton and package handling conveyor systems is preferred to support our automated sortation operations
Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and technical documentation
Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, 3 Phase motors, and pneumatics
Proven ability in process improvement and innovative problem solving
Proficient with business IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS (MEx preferred)
Qualifications:
Qualified tradesperson (Electrical or Mechanical)
Restricted Electrical Licence – desirable
Minimum 3 years' leadership experience in maintenance/reliability functions
Valid driver's licence
