About the Company

Heidelberg is the leading global solution provider for commercial and industrial customers in the print media industry. We develop and provide precision offset printing presses, plate imaging devices, postpress equipment, integrating software as well as the entire range of spare parts, consumables, remarketed equipment, servicing and consultancy advice.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide advanced technical engineering support and systems expertise to both internal and external customers for the integration, commissioning, performance evaluation and servicing of new and remarketed press and post press equipment within the Heidelberg Solution of products and services

This includes:

· Manage the physical build, setup, and commissioning of complex mechanical systems for press and post-press machinery, validating that all components and finished installations meet precise engineering tolerances

· Conduct advanced diagnostics on press and bindery equipment installed at the customers’ site or in house, evaluating operational metrics and mechanical behaviour to pinpoint root causes and implement precise technical solutions.

· Coordinate and execute preventative care programs for equipment under active service contracts, ensuring that all mechanical checks, parts replacements, and servicing protocols strictly follow specified technical procedures

· Evaluate technical performance trends to Identify service gaps and sources of customer dissatisfaction, formulating actionable recommendations or system optimizations to rectify underlying mechanical issues

· Being an effective team player, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to organisational values, goals and objectives

· Being willing and able to travel on assignment throughout Australia

· Conducting work in compliance with health and safety regulations/legislation at all times.

Skills & Experience

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Printing/Graphic Arts or similar commercial environment

· Demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering technician role preferred, either in the Printing / Graphic Arts industry or a similar commercial environment with a strong focus on Customer Service.

· Basic skills in lathe operation; mill operation; basic pneumatic understanding; basic hydraulic understanding; electrical welding; refrigeration understanding is desirable

· Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised or in a team environment.

· Proven ability to effectively communicate with peers and management levels

· Demonstrated ability to develop, build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally of the organisation

· Demonstrated willingness to develop product knowledge through self-motivated learning and training courses.
