About us

Gillon Consulting Group is a long established (since 1981) Structural & Civil Engineering consultancy firm based in Oakleigh who service a broad range of loyal clients whose projects range from $1 to $50M value.

Working mainly in Vic, NSW and Qld, our projects include commercial, industrial, educational, logistics, residential developments, modular buildings and temporary works and we are often involved in the planning phase right through to project management during construction. We offer our clients personalized high quality service and are looking for a capable structural engineer to join our team.

About you

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills / experience:

• Minimum 4 years experience design experience in a local consultancy

• Steel, concrete, timber and masonry design capability complying with relevant Australian Standards

• Project experience in commercial, industrial, educational and residential markets

• Use of SpaceGASS and Structural Toolkit software (hand sketching ability also advantageous)

• Excellent communication skills including liaising clients and ability to interpret technical drawings

• You are a problem solver and demonstrate longevity in your previous positions

• Bachelor of Engineering & Registered Professional Engineer or the ability to achieve this in the near future

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required

About the role and responsibilities

• Detailed structural design and detailing from concept to building permit stage

• Work with clients and stakeholders during design to ensure their expectations are met

• Undertake construction inspections, prepare technical reports and resolve construction queries as required

• Approach your work with initiative, proactivity and big picture thinking
