$85,000 - $95,000 Annual

We are seeking a Technical Manufacturing Support Engineer to be involved in the production of Suba's in-house designed products, ensuring a high quality of workmanship is maintained, and goods are produced in a timely manner. In addition, under the general supervision of the Technical Support Manager, you will help with providing after-sales support for the products as required.

Task & responsibilities

The main duties of the role include:

In house production

  • To work on production of Suba in-house designed products
  • To utilize Sheetmetal working skills in the production of Suba in-house designed and manufactured goods:
  • Designing, drawing new templates and utilising existing templates
  • Cutting metals using provided templates and available tools necessary to meet with quality control targets
  • Forming metals into required shape utilising available joining tools
  • Assembling metal parts to encase technical/mechanical/electrical componentry to produce end product
  • Applying correct finishing product/technique to manufactured products as per quality control targets
  • To ensure all raw production materials are available and re-stocked as necessary to ensure smooth continuous production
  • To maintain systems whereby goods are produced in a timely manner.
  • To maintain Suba’s highest quality of workmanship possible in accordance with production directives
  • To raise any issues that occur during production that will have an impact on the finished item
  • To assist in researching latest technologies so goods can be adapted to incorporate the latest features
  • To co-ordinate supporting staff to ensure production runs smoothly and timely

Service activities

  • To have all the tools and other necessary equipment available and in proper working order.
  • To work efficiently within the allocated work area in a professional manner.
  • Technical support
  • To investigate causes of technical problems and to find and recommend remedies.
  • To be pro-active in establishing improvements to levels of preventive maintenance, and future re-designs to improve overall products manufactured
  • To provide service / maintenance to manufactured products
  • General
  • Prepare monthly and weekly plans to keep all areas updated on Suba’s manufacturing activities
  • Attend any training meetings as set down
  • Be aware of company policy and support the same.
  • Work with integrity and promote Suba’s interests within the industry.
  • Works as a member of the manufacturing and technical support team, and as such lend support willingly to help within the team and also in the broader organisation as required.

Conducts tests of mechanical systems, collects and analyses data, and assembles and installs mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.

  • preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
  • assisting Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
  • selecting tools and equipment
  • assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
  • estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
  • performing and directing field and laboratory tests
  • collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
  • organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
  • ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions

Qualification & experience

You will possess a relevant diploma level qualification or at least three years of highly relevant employment experience to substitute.

In depth technical knowledge of manufacturing processes involving sheet metal working to manufacture and design Suba in-house products. Good technical and practical background in working with metal is essential. Good communications skills and attention to detail.
