About the Role
You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of our industrial plant operations. Working the afternoon/evening shift, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, servicing, and mechanical troubleshooting of our production and recycling equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and routine equipment servicing to ensure optimal plant reliability.
- Performing mechanical fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on production equipment.
- Providing technical support and maintenance for industrial recycling and manufacturing equipment, including extruders, conveyors, shredders, granulators, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, cooling systems, and material handling equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and operational equipment issues efficiently within a fast-paced production environment.
- Assessing and estimating material costs and quantities, and machinery requirements to support maintenance planning, equipment procurement, and operational continuity across the production facility.
- Ensuring strict compliance with workplace health and safety standards and operational procedures at all times.
Skills and Experience Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in manufacturing, industrial processing, recycling, or heavy industrial environments.
- Proven experience in carrying out preventative maintenance, equipment servicing, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of industrial plant operations and complex mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience working with industrial processing equipment, including conveyors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, equipment reliability, and overall operational performance.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- A relevant Mechanical Engineering Technician qualification or equivalent.
- A trade qualification in mechanical, industrial, or maintenance disciplines.
