Role Overview
As a key member of our maintenance team, you will ensure our packaging and processing equipment operates at peak performance. Your primary focus will be on electrical troubleshooting and repairs, but you will also engage in a wide range of mechanical tasks, reflecting our team’s flexible and collaborative approach. Effective teamwork and a safety-first mindset are essential to this role.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs focusing on extra-low-voltage (24VDC) systems, PLC controls, servo motors, and drive technologies.
Conduct preventative maintenance (PM) on a range of automated packaging and processing equipment.
Diagnose and rectify both electrical and mechanical faults with a methodical, safety-first approach.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings.
Collaborate closely with the production team to minimize downtime and resolve technical issues quickly.
Assist with equipment disconnection and reconnection tasks as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a maintenance technician or electrician with a strong electrical background.
Excellent electrical troubleshooting skills, specifically with 24VDC control systems.
Hands-on experience with servo motors, drives, and PLC-controlled machinery, with a focus on diagnostics rather than programming.
Strong mechanical aptitude and a methodical approach to fault-finding.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and engineering drawings.
Previous experience in the food manufacturing or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry is highly desirable.
Licences and Qualifications
Disconnect/Reconnect Licence (or willingness to obtain one).
Relevant electrical trade qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent).
