About the Role
As a Maintenance Fitter and Turner, you will be responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment in our manufacturing environment. Your expertise will keep production operating efficiently, minimise downtime, maintain product quality, and uphold strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings
Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
Checking supplied, fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
Setting guides, stops and other controls on machinery and machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies machines.
Erect machines and equipment on-site
Undertake other duties, including but not limited to working in other areas as delegated and as directed by Maintenance Supervisor
Attend and participate in training and meetings when required
Skills & Qualifications:
Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent
Restricted Electrical Licence (REL)
Mechanical Trade Certificate
Fluid power training
Demonstrated experience in carrying out safe work practices with 100% compliance to company policies and procedures and OHS practices
Excellent organisational and planning skills in managing competing priorities in a manufacturing environment
Experience in building strong, positive relationships across internal teams
Ability to act quickly, troubleshoot and proactively to manage issues as they arise
Proactively, flexible, reliable and a strong work ethic
Good communications skills both written and verbal
Intermediate computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use the office suite and database software
Current Forklift Licence is desirable
Welding experience (advantageous)
About You
Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks
Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (advantageous)
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively, within in a team environment
Commitment to complying with our zero-tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy
