About the role 

The production facility has a series of production lines designed to cut, bend and shape coiled sheet metal into numerous patterns and forms. These ultimately become our Certified Acoustic and Fire-rated Systems, used in civil construction across Australia. 

This role is responsible for ensuring the Overall Equipment Effectiveness of the production lines by optimizing change-over times, machine setups, monitoring performance and undertaking adjustments during the production process, minimizing downtime and product loss.

You will be part of a highly skilled Maintenance Team that is both responsible for maintaining the equipment and assisting in the continuous improvement of the production lines through technological upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare machines prior to production 

  • Perform initial test runs producing a part 

  • Observe machine operations and identify defects or machine malfunctions 

  • Adjust and make minor repairs to the machinery during operation when necessary 

  • Ensure that all documentation, reports, either electronic or paper, is completed and in accordance with agreed timeframes 

  • Undertake other duties, including but not limited to working in other areas as delegated and as directed by Maintenance Supervisor and/or General Manager

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent  

  • 5 Years + of mechanical service experience

  • Current valid Forklift Driver Licence

  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out safe work practices with 100% compliance to company policies and procedures and OHS practices 

  • Ability to develop and implement processes to meet outcomes 

  • Good communications skills including both written and verbal 

  • Basic computer literacy skills including the capacity to effectively use the office suite and database software

  • Ability to work flexible work hours within a 38-hour week

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A record of being reliable and punctual

  • Ability to adapt quickly and proactively manage issues, as duties may change depending on the business needs.

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills in managing competing priorities in a manufacturing environment 

  • Proactive, flexible, reliable and has a strong work ethic 

  • Commitment to complying with our zero-tolerance Drug and Alcohol Policy
