PortxGroup Engineering provides equipment maintenance services to Container Terminals and the Logistics Industry. Our company is expanding its Container Crane Maintenance team and we’re looking for experienced Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join us. This position is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities -Carry out maintenance repairs and modifications on Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMG), Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTG), Spreaders and other plant and equipment.
- Perform regular tests, inspections and maintenance of cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment and collect test data for analysis.
- Rebuild, replace, or repair major equipment components, mechanical assemblies, and hydraulic control systems.
- Maintain and update records of work performed on equipment to track service history.
- Interpret technical drawings and identify appropriate tooling and techniques to implement modifications or repairs.
- Correct unsafe conditions and housekeeping problems in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
- Respond to work requests in a timely manner as per assigned KPIs.
About you
- Minimum of 5 years Crane maintenance experience
- For Mechanical Engineering Tecnhicians
- ability to read and interpret hydraulic drawings and troubleshoot hydraulic systems
- Spreader experience will be an advantage
- An engineering-related tertiary qualification will be highly regarded
- Strong communication and English language proficiency skills (written and verbal)
- A desire to learn and be trained for potential opportunities to work on international projects
- Must be available to work shift patterns, overtime and travel to conduct works onsite as required
Location: West Melbourne, VIC PortxGroup Engineering offers an attractive work environment together with a competitive salary package and an opportunity to train and work on international projects. The successful candidate will be offered a salary commensurate with experience, starting from $90,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
