About the Position

The Works Maintenance Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the delivery of Council’s infrastructure maintenance works. The position ensures that reactive and programmed works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved standards, specifications, budgets, and timeframes, while complying with the Road Management Plan and relevant legislation.

The position reports to the Team Leaders within Infrastructure Maintenance.  Working closely with the Infrastructure Maintenance team, contractors, and stakeholders, the role contributes to effective asset management, risk reduction, contract compliance, and the delivery of high-quality outcomes for the community.

About You

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in civil construction or diploma or less formal qualifications with relevant work skills and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering road, footpath and drainage maintenance works on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising road, footpath and drainage maintenance contractors
  • Sound knowledge of the requirements and application for OH&S legislation and site management
  • Knowledge and experience of the requirements of the Road Management Act Associated Regulations & Codes of Practice, Road Management Plans
Requirements of the position
  • A current and valid MR driver licence;
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia; 
  • Satisfactory National Police Check; and
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
