Vaess Australia is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to plan, coordinate and continuously improve preventative and corrective maintenance for our food production systems. This role is critical to ensuring safe, reliable and efficient production through high-quality maintenance planning, scheduling, parts readiness and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

·         Develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans and schedules for food production lines, packaging equipment and associated utilities.

·         Plan and schedule corrective maintenance work.

·         Ensure parts and materials are available before work commences; liaise with Stores/Procurement to manage critical spares and lead times.

·         Conduct equipment history reviews and failure analysis to drive reliability improvements and reduce repeat breakdowns.

·         Support maintenance compliance activities, including food safety, GMP, HACCP and WHS requirements.

·         Coordinate planned shutdowns, including scope development, scheduling, contractor management and post-shutdown review.

·         Maintain maintenance KPI reporting and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

·         Prepare and update SOPs, maintenance procedures and job plans to standardise safe work practices.

·         Work closely with production teams to prioritise work, manage emergent jobs and communicate schedule changes.

 

Skills Requirements

·         Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Maintenance Management.

·         Demonstrated relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (food, beverage, FMCG or similar highly regulated industry preferred).

·         Strong understanding of preventative maintenance strategies, asset reliability concepts and maintenance workflow management.

·         Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and equipment specifications.

·         High attention to detail, strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced production environment.

·         Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate across Maintenance, Production, Quality and contractors.
