About the Role

R A Bell & Co Pty Ltd are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of innovative engineering solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical expertise with strong problem-solving skills and can work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Australian permanent residency or citizenship is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support mechanical design projects from concept through to completion.

  • Undertake complex engineering analysis, modelling, and simulation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and documentation.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical design and engineering processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related discipline).

  • Minimum of 1 years of mechanical engineering experience in the emergency service sector.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, design principles, and engineering analysis.

  • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver outcomes within set timelines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated capability in problem-solving and applying innovative solutions.

Core Skills

  • Mechanical design and drafting.

  • Proficient in application and interpretation of GD&T to engineering drawings.

  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).

  • Process optimisation and Quality Control.

Technical skills

  • CAD Software: Solidworks, AutoCAD, Onshape and ANSYS.

  • Manufacturing tools: CNC Laser, Press Brake, Turret Punch, Lathe, and Milling Machine.

  • Programming: G-code basics, nesting optimization and creating bending sequence for press brake.

  • Other Tools: Solidworks, PDM, MS Office.
